Chicken Sashimi
It’s actually pretty good. Even better when served with sashimi soy sauce with some garlic mixed in.
The thing on the right is actually chicken gizzard. This is not a dish easily found in Tokyo. However, it’s easily available in Kagoshima. One could...
First Sunrise 2012
Spent new year’s eve in Kagoshima and new year’s day waiting for the first sunrise (hatsu hi no de – 初日の出) at Yoshino Park.
Didn’t manage to get a clear photo of the sun like I did for previous new years, but I’m quite happy with this one; the su...

ichiran
Tonkotsu-based thin-noodled ramen from Hakata.
Yummy.
I visit Ichiran Ramen (一蘭ラーメン) quite often. They have branches all over Tokyo. Shibuya, Roppongi, Suidobashi etc. Been meaning to write a post about it, but just never got to it. ^^.

Getting used to the commute.
It has been interesting.
Starting to recognize faces.
Am I making any sense?
tokyo tower
Just realized that in all the years I’ve been in Japan, I’ve only been to Tokyo Tower once and only halfway up.
container kitchen
Went by the container kichen along Aoyama Dori for some karaage. If you do swing by, basil flavored and yuzu flavored karaage are pretty yummy.
I wasn’t kidding when I said container. Was impressed because the container even had a proper toilet! ^^
observation deck
Lots of space to run around watching planes take off.
This is the observation deck at TIAT. It has a very nice atmosphere. I wonder if people have picnics here…
Brings back memories of when I used to study with friends at Changi International Airport...
fly to the world
Inside the new Tokyo International Airport Terminal (TIAT) at Haneda.
It’s a nice airport, with free wifi and all.
Anyone traveling soon?
parking in tight places
I have huge respect for Japanese drivers when it comes to their skills at parking in tight places. Sometimes, after parking, the driver climbs through the passenger seat to get out.
heading out to dinner
at Akasaka-Mitsuke. And no. I haven’t been to Hooters. ^^.
evening view
Taken from the office one early evening. It was such a clear day. You can see Shinjuku far in the background just left of the tall buildings in the center. Towards the right of the photo, you can make out Tokyo Tower and Tokyo Sky Tree. There’s even...

Rainy Day
Visibility not so good in Tokyo today.
Basil
I don’t have much of a green thumb. The last time I tried to grow a basil plant, it died. Maybe because I kept plucking away at the leaves. Thinking of growing basil again.
But this time, I’ll think big and grow a small patch.
Locks in Enoshima
You know what I find amazing about the photos in this post?
I didn’t see any shops on Enoshima selling locks.
Heartbreak
The probability of dropping a TV remote smack on the Apple logo of a 15in MacBook Pro from a height of 60cm is pretty low… isn’t it?
Photo Mess in Print
While browsing through some magazines in the book store, I found write ups about Photo Mess in a magazine and a book!
“必ず入れたいiPhoneベストアプリ” (must-install iPhone App) and “iPhone アプリ Super Best” (iPhone App Super Best).

On the Yamanote line
You haven’t really been in Tokyo if you haven’t been around on the Yamanote Line.
Recognize any of the stations?
Starting with Ebisu…
… and alighted at Shibuya.
Got on the train one afternoon and decided to document the...
Sakura 2011
Naka-meguro gets extremely crowded during the sakura season. It’s not difficult to see why. With an abundance of sakura tress planted along the Meguro River, one can easily spend an afternoon taking a leisurely stroll and enjoy the sights.
